THE BENEFITS AND DISADVANTAGES OF PURE ROSEHIP OIL

Rosehip oil is the main ingredient in the Witlof Regenerating Oil Serum. But where does it come from? And how does it work? In this blog, we explain to you how rosehip oil, or rosehip seed oil, is a fantastic, super-active natural remedy for skin ageing.

THE ORIGINS OF ROSEHIP OIL

Rose hips are the fruits of a rose bush (the Hedgehog), whose best specimens grow in South America (Rosa Mosqueta) or South Africa (Rosa Canina). The Witlof Rosehip is from South Africa.

Rose hips contain enormous amounts of vitamin C, and the oils are pressed from these fruits’ seeds. The oil contains a lot of pro-vitamin A, also called beta-carotene; this is a plant-based variant, a precursor to vitamin A, which the body converts into vitamin A (and therefore cannot cause toxic amounts in the body).

THE BENEFITS OF USING ROSEHIP SEED OIL

Rosehip seed oil contains linoleic acid, a fatty acid which can be used to restore the skin. As a result, it reduces wrinkle formation and smooths out shallow wrinkles; it also lightens pigmentation spots, reduces scars and stretch marks, and helps the skin to look fresher overall. This has been established for prematurely aged skin, for example; due to sun damage.

In addition to this, rosehip seed oil can also help with inflammation, and therefore can be a good ingredient to help with eczema.

DOES ROSEHIP SEED OIL LIGHTEN SKIN?

As previously said, the oil can help with hyperpigmentation spots, as it has astringent properties, meaning that it is able to help tighten the body's natural muscle tissues. This can help brighten skin tone naturally.

IS ROSEHIP SEED OIL CONNECTED TO CANCER?

Rosehip seed oil can help prevent cancer! According to the National Institute of Health, rosehip seed oil has a cytotoxic effect on colon and breast cancer cells. Not only is this oil good for making your skin look brighter and more youthful, but it can help your health, too!

WHERE DO YOU USE ROSEHIP SEED OIL IN YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE?

The dozens of tiny seeds found in the fruit are pressed for the oil. When unrefined, the oil has a warm, earthy scent and orange glow. The oil also stimulates the production of elastin and collagen; for example, a small amount is enough for your skin.

Warm 2-3 drops of oil between your fingers and you can rub your entire face and cleavage with it. It works best if you let it soak in for a while on clean skin (after the
Cleansing MousseSmoothing Peel and Balancing Toner) so that it is absorbed to the maximum. Then use the Nourishing Facial Cream to hold the oil and let it take effect. Do this every morning and evening and after a few weeks you will see your skin texture improve.

So do you want fresher, smoother skin without blemishes? Then try the Witlof Skincare Regenerating Oil Serum and experience the phenomenal effect of rosehip seed oil for your skin too!
